ਡੰਡਉਤਿ ਬੰਦਨ ਅਨਿਕ ਬਾਰ ਸਰਬ ਕਲਾ ਸਮਰਥ ॥ .
ddanddouth bandhan anik bar sarab kala samarathh ||.
I bow down, and fall to the ground in humble adoration, countless times, to the All-powerful Lord, who possesses all powers..

ਡੋਲਨ ਤੇ ਰਾਖਹੁ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇ ਕਰਿ ਹਥ ॥੧॥ .
ddolan thae rakhahu prabhoo naanak dhae kar hathh ||1||.
Please protect me, and save me from wandering, God. Reach out and give Nanak Your Hand. ||1||.

ਪ੍ਰਭ ਪਾਸਿ ਜਨ ਕੀ ਅਰਦਾਸਿ ਤੂ ਸਚਾ ਸਾਂਈ ॥ .
prabh pas jan kee aradhas thoo sacha sanee ||.
O God, Your humble servant offers his prayer to You; You are my True Master..

ਤੂ ਰਖਵਾਲਾ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਹਉ ਤੁਧੁ ਧਿਆਈ ॥ .
thoo rakhavala sadha sadha ho thudhh dhhiaee ||.
You are my Protector, forever and ever; I meditate on You..

ਜੀਅ ਜੰਤ ਸਭਿ ਤੇਰਿਆ ਤੂ ਰਹਿਆ ਸਮਾਈ ॥ .
jeea janth sabh thaeria thoo rehia samaee ||.
All the beings and creatures are Yours; You are pervading and permeating in them..

ਜੋ ਦਾਸ ਤੇਰੇ ਕੀ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰੇ ਤਿਸੁ ਮਾਰਿ ਪਚਾਈ ॥ .
jo dhas thaerae kee nindha karae this mar pachaee ||.
One who slanders Your slave is crushed and destroyed..

ਚਿੰਤਾ ਛਡਿ ਅਚਿੰਤੁ ਰਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਲਗਿ ਪਾਈ ॥੨੧॥ .
chintha shhadd achinth rahu naanak lag paee ||21||.
Falling at Your Feet, Nanak has renounced his cares, and has become care-free. ||21||.

ਕੀਤਾ ਲੋੜਹਿ ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਹੋਇ ॥ .
keetha lorrehi so prabh hoe ||.
Whatever God wills, that alone happens..

ਤੁਝ ਬਿਨੁ ਦੂਜਾ ਨਾਹੀ ਕੋਇ ॥ .
thujh bin dhooja nahee koe ||.
Without You, there is no other at all..
|
ਜੋ ਜਨੁ ਸੇਵੇ ਤਿਸੁ ਪੂਰਨ ਕਾਜ ॥ .
jo jan saevae this pooran kaj ||.
The humble being serves Him, and so all his works are perfectly successful..

ਦਾਸ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਕੀ ਰਾਖਹੁ ਲਾਜ ॥੧॥ .
dhas apunae kee rakhahu laj ||1||.
O Lord, please preserve the honor of Your slaves. ||1||.

ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਣਿ ਪੂਰਨ ਦਇਆਲਾ ॥ .
thaeree saran pooran dhaeiala ||.
I seek Your Sanctuary, O Perfect, Merciful Lord..

ਤੁਝ ਬਿਨੁ ਕਵਨੁ ਕਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ .
thujh bin kavan karae prathipala ||1|| rehao ||.
Without You, who would cherish and love me? ||1||Pause||.

ਜਲਿ ਥਲਿ ਮਹੀਅਲਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਭਰਪੂਰਿ ॥ .
jal thhal meheeal rehia bharapoor ||.
He is permeating and pervading the water, the land and the sky..
|
ਨਿਕਟਿ ਵਸੈ ਨਾਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਦੂਰਿ ॥ .
nikatt vasai nahee prabh dhoor ||.
God dwells near at hand; He is not far away..
|
ਲੋਕ ਪਤੀਆਰੈ ਕਛੂ ਨ ਪਾਈਐ ॥ .
lok patheearai kashhoo n paeeai ||.
By trying to please other people, nothing is accomplished..
|
ਸਾਚਿ ਲਗੈ ਤਾ ਹਉਮੈ ਜਾਈਐ ॥੨॥ .
sach lagai tha houmai jaeeai ||2||.
When someone is attached to the True Lord, his ego is taken away. ||2||.
|
ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਲਾਇ ਲਏ ਸੋ ਲਾਗੈ ॥ .
jis no lae leae so lagai ||.
He alone is attached, whom the Lord Himself attaches..
|
ਗਿਆਨ ਰਤਨੁ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਤਿਸੁ ਜਾਗੈ ॥ .
gian rathan anthar this jagai ||.
The jewel of spiritual wisdom is awakened deep within..
|
ਦੁਰਮਤਿ ਜਾਇ ਪਰਮ ਪਦੁ ਪਾਏ ॥ .
dhuramath jae param padh paeae ||.
Evil-mindedness is eradicated, and the supreme status is attained..
|
ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਏ ॥੩॥ .
gur parasadhee nam dhhiaeae ||3||.
By Guru's Grace, meditate on the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||3||.
|
ਦੁਇ ਕਰ ਜੋੜਿ ਕਰਉ ਅਰਦਾਸਿ ॥ .
dhue kar jorr karo aradhas ||.
Pressing my palms together, I offer my prayer;.

ਤੁਧੁ ਭਾਵੈ ਤਾ ਆਣਹਿ ਰਾਸਿ ॥ .
thudhh bhavai tha anehi ras ||.
if it pleases You, Lord, please bless me and fulfill me..
|
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਅਪਨੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਲਾਇ ॥ .
kar kirapa apanee bhagathee lae ||.
Grant Your Mercy, Lord, and bless me with devotion..
|
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸਦਾ ਧਿਆਇ ॥੪॥੨॥ .
jan naanak prabh sadha dhhiae ||4||2||.
Servant Nanak meditates on God forever. ||4||2||.
